Hetzner Online GmbH was founded in 1997 in Gunzenhausen, Bavaria, and has grown into one of Europe's largest hosting providers. The company owns and operates data centres in Nuremberg, Falkenstein, Helsinki, and Ashburn (Virginia), with its core European facilities offering strong data-residency guarantees under German and Finnish law.

Hetzner's product range spans dedicated root servers, cloud instances (shared and dedicated vCPU), managed Kubernetes, load balancers, block and object storage, and DNS hosting. The company is widely recognised for aggressive pricing and straightforward billing, which has made it a popular choice among developers, startups, and SMEs across Europe.

The company is privately held and self-funded, with no external investors. Hetzner employs roughly 400 people and continues to expand its European data-centre capacity.
