Scaleway

Scaleway SAS was founded in 1999 and is a subsidiary of the Iliad Group, the French telecommunications conglomerate. It operates multiple data centres in Paris, Amsterdam, and Warsaw, all within the European Union, providing a sovereign alternative to non-European hyperscalers.

The Scaleway product catalogue covers bare-metal and virtual cloud instances, object storage, managed Kubernetes, serverless containers and functions, managed databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis), and transactional email. The company has invested heavily in AI infrastructure, offering GPU instances and managed inference endpoints for large language models.

Scaleway positions itself as a European-first cloud provider, with all customer data processed and stored within the EU. The company is a founding member of Gaia-X and actively participates in European digital sovereignty initiatives.
